Know exactly who you're dealing with

Every signer verifies who they are, then signs with a qualified electronic signature that carries the same legal effect as handwriting, EU-wide.

“Our business clients can now sign their credit and guarantee documentation digitally with ZealiD.”

What firms told us before they had this

“I spend at least an hour a day answering ‘Where is the latest SHA?’ or ‘What is the notice period?’”

“We’ve struggled to implement QES. This makes it simple.”

“We’ve searched for a document or client portal for years. SharePoint doesn’t work.”

The tools were never built for client work

None of the six firms in our pilot had a shared space with their clients. Not for lack of trying. Document systems are built for people inside the firm, signing tools handle one document at a time, and nothing joins them up.

Document systems stop at the firm’s edge

SharePoint is built for internal collaboration. The moment a client needs access, you are outside what it was designed to do.

Signing tools start over every time

An e-signature tool checks identity per document, if it checks at all. Nothing it learns about your client carries forward to the next one.

Email fills the gap

So the file goes as an attachment and the ID goes as a photo. Not because anyone chose that, but because it is the one thing that works everywhere.

Integrated Identity and Signing

Generic signatures sit outside of the onboarding workflow, causing friction and drop-offs. Trust Circle unifies the process in three simple steps:

Step 1

Verify Identity

Clients complete a secure, two-minute biometric onboarding directly on their phone. No more asking executives to email photographs of their ID cards.

Icon person identity Icon person identity

Step 2

Access Documents

Clients review files in a secure, identity-bound workspace. Documents and CDD sit in the exact same workflow, meaning you never have to send them to a separate tool.

Step 3

Sign with Biometrics

Clients execute agreements using their biometrics. They produce a legally binding Qualified Electronic Signature (QES) with full EU legal standing, without the usual friction.

The QES Advantage

QES isn’t just a basic electronic signature like major signing platforms or other alternatives. The signed PDF itself contains the EU Commission's validation stamp. Any EU body can verify it independently, and the actual file permanently contains the legally binding proof.

EU Compliance & Data Sovereignty

No US Cloud

Meet GDPR obligations and pass security reviews with EU or local hosting by default. All data is hosted securely in ZealiD's own data centres. Includes client-level data segregation and built-in deletion workflows.

Strict AMLR Deadlines

The new EU AMLR takes effect on July 10, 2027, for most regulated businesses. Without continuous monitoring, you risk heavy fines, lost licenses, and damaged customer trust. To stay compliant, transition from one-time onboarding checks to ongoing, automated verifications.

Eradicate Email Risk

Sharing external links via generic cloud drives creates broad access permissions into your environment. Trust Circle keeps sensitive deal documents and client secrets off insecure channels.

Robert Swaak

“We are building a future-proof bank, digital by design… Our business clients can now sign their credit and guarantee documentation digitally with ZealiD, a provider of qualified electronic signatures and a partner of ABN AMRO.”

Robert Swaak,

Message from CEO in Q2 2022 report

Stéphane Sabbague

"Paper procedures are a no-go for modern businesses with complicated signing journeys and long delays. It was time for us to go digital, and ZealiD came through with a user-friendly and simple solution that cut our signing cycles from weeks to just minutes ensuring the highest level of security."

Stéphane Sabbague,

CEO at CALIPIA

ZealiD app user

“And in my case, the documents I have to send need to be taken there in person, to another city. An alternative option is to do it online with QES, but there are no QES issuers in my city, so I still need to take a trip to another city! Being able to complete my KYC online is literally the only way I can have everything sorted fast and smooth. So yes, I just wanted to express how impressed I am with ZealiD”

ZealiD App user

Zak Cassar Rose

"Following a challenging couple of weeks during which our previous TSP partner refused to accept the latest form of identity documents from Malta, it became crucial for us to locate a provider who could smoothly integrate it into our system.

I am pleased to report that Katerina and Typhanie were extremely helpful, highly professional, and responsive to my numerous phone calls over the course of a week. ZealiD offers a robust platform and a competitive pricing model, which, while it could be improved further, is among the finest in the industry."

Frequently asked questions

What is a trust circle?

A shared space built around one client. You invite up to nine people, each one verifies their identity before they can see anything, and the files, documents and signatures for that client live inside it. It is not a folder with a password, but a space where you know who each person is.

Do we actually need a qualified signature?

Not for everything. For routine correspondence a simple electronic signature is usually fine, and a qualified one matters where the document carries real weight or is specifically required, such as cross-border public submissions.

The difference is what comes with the signature. A simple signature records that someone signed, not who they were. EU law requires identity to be verified before a qualified signature can be issued, so with a QES the proof of the person is part of the signature itself. Under eIDAS it carries the equivalent legal effect of a handwritten signature across the EU, and that proof travels inside the file rather than sitting on a vendor's server.

How long does it take to set up?

Your firm works in the browser, so there is nothing to install on your side. You can create a circle and invite your first client the same day. Your client installs the ZealiD app once and verifies in about three minutes.

Does my client need to install anything?

Yes. Your client installs the ZealiD app once to verify their identity and to sign with Face ID or Touch ID. After that they open documents from a link and approve signing from their phone.

How long does verification last?

Two years. Your client proves who they are once, and everything you send them in between is signable without a new identity check. After two years they verify again.

Does it work for clients outside Sweden, or with non-EU documents?

Yes. Verification accepts more than 150 identity documents across 50-plus nationalities, with the app available in 24 languages. Your client does not need to be in Sweden or hold an EU passport to be verified or to sign.

Where is our data stored?

Trust services are hosted off cloud in the EU, in ZealiD's own data centres, with client-level separation and built-in deletion workflows. ZealiD is listed on the EU Trusted List under Sweden, supervised by the Swedish Post and Telecom Authority, and assessed yearly by two accredited eIDAS conformity assessment bodies, TÜViT and SRC Security.

Can we keep using DocuSign or Adobe?

Yes. ZealiD signatures are available through Adobe Acrobat Sign, DocuSign, Entrust and Foxit, so a firm with a signing workflow it already likes can keep it and add qualified signatures to it.

What does it cost?

Personal plans start at €19 a month and are priced by signature volume, for one person working on their own.

Business plans are priced by how many of your own people use it. On Business your whole team works in one place: you invite colleagues, each verifies through the ZealiD app to the same standard your clients do, and you control who holds which role and which circles they can see. Client seats are free and unlimited, so only internal headcount counts towards a tier.
